Advocating for Change

We collaborate closely with policymakers, lawmakers, and community stakeholders to promote meaningful solutions. By endorsing specific legislation, we aim to create a positive impact on housing accessibility and affordability for Utah's workforce.

SB174 - Proposes streamlining the subdivision process by requiring cities to hold only one initial public hearing for land subdivision applications that comply with existing zoning requirements. Furthermore, SB174 establishes penalties for cities and counties that fail to submit their moderate-income plans or have them rejected.

HB364 - Aims to streamline the process of developing affordable housing projects by providing incentives and removing regulatory barriers. The bill also requires the development of a statewide affordable housing plan and mandates local governments to create their affordable housing plans.

HB406 - Establishes a rental assistance program to provide financial aid to low-income individuals and families struggling with rental costs. Includes provisions to prevent wrongful eviction and protect tenants from retaliatory actions by landlords. Proposes the creation of a Utah Housing Preservation and Production Fund to support the preservation and development of affordable housing units.
